A paparazzo Chris Guerra
was struck and killed by a Toyota Highlander SUV while darting across a
street after taking pictures of Justin Bieber’s $200,000 Ferrari when
it was pulled over along a freeway in Los Angeles on New Year’s Day.
Bieber was not in the car at the time.
‘Hopefully this tragedy will finally
inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to
protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent
public bystanders, and the photographers themselves’, Bieber said in the statement released by Island Def Jam Music Group.
The case is still under the police investigation.
